Fran 2011

Hit two good wods last week as i eased back into things after two weeks of doing a total of three wods:

I was feeling good until i saw Fran come up for yesterday. it was supposed to be my New Years Eve wod and i hadnt done it because i was under the weather so i was a bit hesitant about doing it at all. my PR was 6:18 and that was at my Level I cert exactly 364 days prior. I decided to do it and just aim for sub 7min as i had been eating 95% paleo (up 94% from the entire period between Thanksgiving to New Years Day) for a solid two weeks and because i was egged on by some fellow crossfitters. I also remembered that i felt pukie during the MBCWB/DU wod - and that was good thing because it meant i was finally getting past that semi-comfort zone and pushing until it really really hurts - which is what needs to happen in order to get a good fran time.

as Coach Mike D is giving the final instructions, i kept telling myself "its just less than 7 minutes of hard work, its just less than 7 minutes of hard work..." i didnt look at the clock until i was done - new PR of 5:11! I can neither confirm nor deny that i did a tiger fist pump. Sub 5min is right there if i can work on keeping my butterfly pullups consistent!

So im eating very very well recently and wodding seems to be getting back to normal - next goal is to start seeing Dr. Chris on a regular basis again!

Anew

I started feeling a little under the weather the day after Christmas. (I totally attribute it to my horrible eating habits starting on Thanksgiving.) New Year's Eve went well enough - although i didnt get to wod - and then things really went downhill fast. I'm finally feeling better after taking some antibiotics and today off from work for what appears to have been a sinus infection. Needless to say i only got to wod once this week and that was on Monday:

15min AMRAP

5 deadlifts, 255#
10 C2B pullups
25 Double unders

I finished with 5 rounds plus 3 deadlifts - not too shabby. some even better news though is that i managed to beat Karianne in a wod before 2010 ended!

500m row
5 rope climbs
25 ring dips
50 air squats

6:48 to her 7:23 :p

Looking forward to next week (when i can wod healthy) although my sister is leaving to go back to Nicaragua with Noah after being in the states since Christmas Eve. I'm very happy that I got some quality time with her, her husband, and my nephew/godson this Christmas season. It was so awesome to see the whole family together again and I got some good pictures too:


it took a while for Cecilia and Noah to both smile at the same time - so i just had to force a smile while i waited to catch this gem (definitely worth it!)
